I finished my fourteenth book of the year! Yay! It rained until about 12:30 today, which meant I only had about an hour of actualy lifeguarding before I got off work. Also yay! I was going to write you a story instead of a blog, but I didn't because I am lazy and feeling uncreative. Oh well. Going out with friends to do... something. Back tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be more interesting. This totally frigging counts as a blog post. You're welcome. :P

I was working on sorting out my college financial situation most of last night (didn't even hang out with friends, like I planned), so if I had bothered to blog yesterday, about all I would have had to say is "Those bastards only offered me an unsubsidized loan!"
Not that I have much more to talk about today. Bleh, I'm out.

Oh, this is sad. I missed two days. I do have a semi-good excuse, though. I spent the night at my boyfriend's the last two nights and he currently has no internet, so I couldn't blog at night. I could've blogged earlier in the day, but you know. Who does that?
I finally got my class schedule sorted out for this fall. I had it set before, but then I realized I'd scheduled some classes too close together and that I wasn't going to be able to the trek 3+ blocks between classes in fifteen minutes, so I had to rearrange/ drop some stuff. I had to let go of my Ancient Near East and Greece class, which makes me sad because that sounded awesome. :( But I replaced it with some feminist class that I should like, so it's all good. I still have to get my finances sorted out (I put off applying for meal plans, parking, etc, and my status was messed up and Financial Aid= dumb as a brick, etc).
I'm also slowly stockpiling everything I think I'll need for college. Walmart ought to be grateful to have me for a customer because every couple days I head over, browse around, and end up buying around $30 worth of stuff, mostly in the color green. I like green.
I set a goal to read 50 books this year, and if I remember correctly, I've only read 13. Epic. Fail. I'll probably be lucky if I make it to 25, but I am signed up for 4 English classes, so that might help a bit. Currently I'm reading Grendel by John Gardner. I was supposed to read it in high school, but I never did, so I am now. It's really not bad. I love the way Unferth is explained. At some point I plan on finishing the Twilight series (yes, I know it sucks ass and Bella is a stupid whiny tramp, but I feel like reading it anyway. Why the hell not? Everyone else has.) and A Lion Among Men, and probably some Neil Gaiman. I love Neil Gaiman.
Tonight we went out to Olive Garden for my brother's birthday. He turns 23 tomorrow. I'm working every day this week; won't be off until next Monday. Better get to bed. All day tomorrow (10-6), then hanging out at a friend's house. Let's see if I blog tomorrow night. Out.

I think I might start this Blog Every Day in August thing, even if it means starting a bit late. I think my non-subscribers will forgive me for missing five days, and I have neglected this blog for a few months, so filling it up with 26 days of straight posting will be a nice change.
What has happened since I last blogged? Hmm.
I got a new phone- a Motorola Droid. Not the new one, the old one. I like the non-touch screen keyboard. I also LOVE being able to access internet ALL THE TIME. That is fairly exciting. I also find it highly amusing that when you turn it on, there is a glowing red eye in the center of the screen for about 10 seconds. It reminds me of HAL. That's right, I paid attention in film class! Somewhat.
Let's see. I had to take an online class this summer to finish up my Associate in Arts degree. Without that degree, I wouldn't have been able to go up to University of Delaware main campus this fall, because the AA degree tuition is cheaper and weird stuff and whatever. So I took a Chemistry class and passed with a C, and that makes me extremely happy because I'm terrible at science anyway, and a C= main campus! Finally! I am so excited! Nervous, but excited! I'll miss my boyfriend, but Newark is only two hours away from where I live now, and he's promised to come up and visit me and I've promised to come down and visit him. And he's told me he'll call every night. :) So we'll be ok.
Classes start August 31. So if all goes well, I'll be blogging on my first day. I move up either the 28th or the 29th- not quite sure. There's still a lot I have to do, and buy, before I leave but I am so ready to be out of here! I have a suite with 3 other girls. I don't actually know any of them. That should be interesting.
I've also been working at the pool again this year. I've been a lifeguard at this community pool for about 3 years now. It's an outdoor pool, so it's only open during the summer. Lifeguarding isn't a bad job, and it's not all that hard, but I don't really like it. I'm hoping this will be my last year. It depends on if I can find a different job before next summer. I don't plan on working this fall, just so I can get used to the harder classes, the campus, living away from home, etc. But I might look for one this spring. Not sure.
Can't think of anything to add. Let's see if I remember to blog tomorrow. <3
